Time Estimation Log

Guess how long a task will take, time it, compare. After two weeks you will know your own correction factor.

Misjudging time is common with ADHD and has nothing to do with laziness. Willpower will not make your guesses better, but measuring will. Log a few tasks a day for two weeks: most people find a stable pattern, for example 'everything takes me 1.5 times longer than I think'. Then plan with that number.

What is inside

  • ✓How it works
  • ✓My log
  • ✓My factor by type of task (admin ×__, housework ×__, study or creative work ×__, leaving the house ×__)
  • ✓Hidden steps I forget to count (getting ready, travel, finding things, switching tasks)

How to use it

  • 1Print it, or open it on a tablet and fill it with a stylus.
  • 2Use it for one week before judging it. New habits need a few repetitions.
  • 3Bring it to your doctor or therapist: a filled sheet says more than memory.
