📋 What to expect
What is the VARK learning profile?
The VARK model (Visual, Auditory, Reading/Writing, Kinesthetic) identifies sensory preferences in learning. Developed by Neil Fleming in 1987, it describes 4 learning modalities: visual (learning through diagrams, charts, mind maps), auditory (lectures, discussions, podcasts), reading/writing (notes, lists, textbooks), and kinesthetic (practical experimentation, concrete examples, movement). Most people have a multimodal profile combining several preferences.
Why know your VARK profile?
Knowing your learning profile allows you to adapt your work, study, and memorisation methods to your natural functioning. Neurodivergent people (ADHD, autism, dyslexia) often have marked VARK profiles — for example, a strong kinesthetic or visual preference — which explains why traditional teaching methods (reading, lectures) may not suit them. Adapting your learning environment to your profile can significantly improve information retention.
About the VARK questionnaire
This test is based on the official VARK questionnaire developed by Neil Fleming. It identifies your preferences across the 4 sensory learning modalities and provides practical recommendations tailored to your profile to optimise how you learn, memorise, and communicate.
