What is the bipolar spectrum?

Bipolar disorder is marked by mood swings between high phases (elation, overflowing energy, racing thoughts, reduced need for sleep) and low phases, close to depression. The bipolar spectrum also includes subtler forms, where the highs stay mild (hypomania) and often go unnoticed.

Why it matters

Many people only seek help for their low phases, so the high phases go unmentioned and diagnosis is delayed. Recognizing the rhythm of your highs and lows helps you understand how you function, anticipate difficult periods and look for support that truly fits.

About this test

This test is free, fast and anonymous. It is a screening tool for the bipolar spectrum, not a diagnosis: only a doctor or psychiatrist can make one. If your mood swings disrupt your life or your relationships, please talk with a professional.
